Blahhhhhhh....

So, it's been a while since I've been on here, and I feel a bit overwhelmed by things, I got my mental health meds tweaked, looking into another therapy group that expands on DBT and more, family issues, holidays, an upcoming trip, and more family issues...oh, yeah, and school.

I have been in a slump for over a month (I have no idea why I let it go for so long) and I really got tired of it. I had graduated from the DBT program and didn't feel stellar about it. I can't put a finger on exactly why; however, I knew that I needed to talk to my psychiatrist and she adjusted my meds. I do feel a bit better and I do have an appointment with her next month. I'm sort of thinking that I may need another adjustment, but I can wait until I see her.

Attending school has been fun, as I am taking an advanced English composition class and the papers I have had to write have been testing my abilities to the max. This last big paper I am doing is okay as I can pick a topic on what I want to write about. I usually go for more controversial subjects to turn in, and I decided this time I would go off that and write about something that I experience every day. Cats. Lol.  The paper has to be eight pages long, and I'm guessing that most people think that writing about domesticated cats as pets wouldn't take up eight pages. I have found a way to take up a full eight pages without the filler BS some put in their papers just to get eight pages. I have a tendency to go over the page limit, but that it with smaller papers. This might be the perfect paper for me, even though it is going to take a while to get my thoughts down without going off-topic. I've already done the first part of the assignment (what my subject is and what I am going to argue) and then I have to find credible resources and references. I am not writing the actual paper at this time, just taking this week to get the subject and references down. I think doing research is actually worse than writing a paper.

I'm going to get back on track with writing on here as it helps me with getting things out and sharing stuff that I find fascinating, fun, good, and more. Right now I'm being annoyed by a loud, yowling cat. She is staring at the wall and talking to it. Ugh...

Halloween was quiet, which suited me fine, and Thanksgiving was different this year. I didn't stay with my oldest daughter, son-in-law, and their kids making food and enjoying it, but went to my sister's house and celebrated. We all pitched into prep and cook food, stuffed ourselves silly, and watched "Wednesday" on Netflix. I would recommend it as it is funny, magical, and macabre.

Saturday my son-in-law's family held their Thanksgiving for which I was invited, but had a nasty paper due. I got to partake of the leftovers on Sunday when I went to my daughter and son-in-law's house. They were handed all the leftovers from the 'feast' (and I am not exaggerating) and they sent me home with leftovers. I wish I would have gone, but I think I would be scrambling at the last minute to get my paper the way I wanted it and turn it in late. Wow....do the women on my son-in-law's side of the family know how to COOK! Not great for my diabetes, but damn...it was really tasty. I have had a love of greens ever since I tried them, and got them again this year. They only make them for special occasions, as it is a bit time-consuming to prep and make them. I helped make them last year for Thanksgiving.  Now, I am from a Nordic/French background, but I'm not a fan of lutefisk, pickled herring, or anything like that. I do enjoy a good smoked salmon from Norway, as it's seasoned really well. Most times, white people's food is boring and bland. My son-in-law mentions this quite frequently when we find something hot. Thanks to him, I have a bottle of hot sauce in my cupboard that I use a lot. Just tastes better with some heat. I've gravitated to more spicy and hot food as it seems to make food taste so much better. I've got some members of my family that pack their own hot sauce in their purses or bag just in case. I really need to start doing that. And now I want some greens, cheesy potatoes, and ham. And the feast didn't just have a great ham, as they included a grilled turkey and ribs.

Anyway, Thanksgiving was good. I'm actually over Christmas because I'm already sick of the holiday season. Right after the holidays, my family and I are taking a trip to the Bahamas. That might be more fun than seeing snow. lol.
